These Rules and Regulations for West Winds Golf Club (WWGC) are intended to be a guide to the use of WWGC. They are not intended to deal with all conceivable issues that may be presented for governance. These Rules and Regulations are established by WWGC to protect the Facilities and to promote the health, safety, welfare and enjoyment of members, their respective families and guests, public customers and all other persons using the Facilities. WWGC’s goal is to provide an enjoyable golf experience. To uphold these standards, all persons using the
WWGC facilities are expected to act in a manner consistent with good taste. WWGC may amend these Rules and Regulations from time to time without notice as it determines appropriate in its sole discretion.
General Rules
All persons using the WWGC Facilities shall abide by all rules and regulations of
WWGC as they may be amended from time to time, whether such rules and regulations are set forth in these Rules and Regulations or are otherwise promulgated by WWGC, whether written or oral.
Hours of Operation
The WWGC Facilities shall be open on the days and during the hours as may be established by WWGC. Areas of the facility may also be periodically closed for maintenance and repairs. WWGC reserves the right to close the golf course, snack bar, or clubhouse from time to time in its discretion.
Personal Coolers
All food and beverages consumed on the WWGC Facilities must be furnished by WWGC unless otherwise permitted.
Personal Service
No person should request special personal services from employees of WWGC who are on duty or the personal use of WWGC furnishings or equipment which are not ordinarily available for use by all guests.
Pedestrian Traffic
For your safety, the golf course is closed to pedestrian traffic at all times. Jogging, and or recreational walking is not permitted on the golf course.
Complaints
All complaints, criticisms or suggestions of any kind relating to any of the operations of
WWGC or its employees must be in writing, signed and addressed to the Club Manager.
Dress Code
It is expected that individuals utilizing WWGC facilities will choose to dress in a fashion befitting the surroundings and atmosphere provided in the setting of WWGC. WWGC may publish dress requirements from time to time. Gentlemen and ladies are requested to dress in a fashion compatible with the appropriate occasion. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times when at WWGC.
Golf Attire – Proper golf attire is required for all players. Proper attire shall mean the following:

Appropriate golf shoes are required for all golfers. Football, soccer or
other large knobby spike shoes are not allowed. Tennis shoes or other soft
sole shoes are subject to the approval of the golf professional on duty.
This dress code is mandatory for all players. Improperly dressed golfers shall be asked to change before playing. If you are in doubt concerning your attire, please check with the Golf professional before starting play.
Golf Rules
The Rules of Golf as adopted by the USGA together with the Rules of Etiquette as adopted by the USGA shall be the rules of WWGC, except when in conflict with local rules or with any of the rules herein.
Check In
All Players must check in with the Golf Shop prior to using the Practice Facility or the golf course. “Cutting-in” is not permitted at any time.
Five-Somes
Five-Players are prohibited from playing together in one group. A group who has five players must break into a two separate groups. Only the General Manager has the right to waive this rule at his/her discretion.
Practice
Practice is not allowed on the golf course. The practice facilities should be used for all practice. All Players must check in prior to using the practice facility. The pitching green and putting green are open to the public and members from ½ hour prior to the first tee time and closed at sunset. The driving range facility will open ½ hour prior to the first tee time. Range balls will no longer be available for purchase 30 minutes prior to sunset. Practice balls are for use on the practice facility and may not be used on the golf course.
General Golf Course Etiquette
Enter and leave bunkers at the nearest level point to the green and smooth sand over with a rake upon leaving.
Repair all ball marks on the green.
Repair all fairway divots using the bottled sand and seed mix provided on each cart.
Searching for balls other than those played by members of the group is not allowed on the course at any time.
Each player must have his or her own set of golf clubs.
If lightning is in the area, all play shall cease. Although the golf shop staff may warn players about lightning in the area, of which it is aware, the WWGC does not assume any duty to detect lightning and warn them. If WWGC personnel warn players about potential lightning in the area, players must stop play immediately.
Players assume the risk of playing in adverse weather conditions.
Twosomes and singles shall be grouped with other players, if available, at the discretion of the golf shop.
Singles shall have no priority on the golf course and shall be permitted to play only at the discretion of the golf shop. Singles should not expect to play through other groups and should not exert any pressure on groups ahead.
Walking is permitted at all times.
Tee Times
Tee times may be made via the phone or in person at the West Winds Golf Club ProShop. A credit card number will be required for weekend reservations. WWGC requires advance notice before day of play (24 Hours) for any cancellation, which you may furnish by contacting the course directly. If you do not cancel your reservation in accordance with the course cancellation policy, the course may charge the full amount of the total cost for each tee time reserved.
West Winds Golf Club Members
Tee times may be made up to 2 weeks in advance by phone, or in person. A credit card number will need to be provided to secure tee time reservation on weekends. The WWGC cancellation policy applies to all members. This means that if you book a tee-time on the weekend for Four-Players and only intend on two players playing, you may be charged for the two no show golfers.
Only members that have purchased an Unlimited Membership have the right to play on weekend mornings. All other members must wait until after 1pm to book a tee-time on the weekend.
Any guest of a member, up to three golfers, will receive a 10%(*new in 2011) discount off their green-fees (in peak season) when requested. Any member that books a tee-time for guests must be present and playing with their guests in order for them to receive a 10% discount.
Public Play
The general public can book up to 7 days in advance by phone, in person, or booked on the www.WestWindsgc.com website. A credit card number will need to be provided to secure tee time reservation on weekends.
Golf Cars
All players must adhere to the 90 degree rule with all golf cars.
Players must have a medical release or handicap parking sticker to waive golf car rules.
Golf cars may only be operated by persons at least 18 years of age having a valid
automobile driver's license.
Only two persons and two sets of golf clubs are permitted per golf car.
Golf cars are to remain on the cart path on all Par 3’s, and any other hole(s) that are noted.
Always use golf car paths where provided.
Be careful to avoid soft areas on fairways, especially after rains. Use roughs whenever
possible.
Never drive a golf car through a hazard.
Operation of a golf car is at the risk of the operator and passenger. Persons who are or
appear to be legally intoxicated may not operate a golf car. Cost of repair to a golf car
which is damaged by the golfer shall be charged to the golfer. Each person shall be held
fully responsible for any and all damages, including damages to the golf car, that are
caused by the misuse of the golf car.
Pace of Play
Management has adopted a policy of requiring its members, guests, and public to complete a round in 4 ½ hours or less. Disregard of our Rate of Progress Policy may result in loss of WWGC privileges at the discretion of management. WWGC staff has the authority to assist, warn, and if needed move groups who are deemed to be out of position.
Warning Process is as follows:
1.First warning to address group is out of position and is asked to work to get back
into position.
2.2nd Warning will prompt player assistant to require group to play in 12 minutes
per hole.
3.3rd Warning will prompt player assistant to move group to correct timed position
on the golf course.
4. 4th Warning will prompt player assistant to remove group from golf course and
refund players prorated green fee rate.
5.Our concern is that you keep up with the group in front of you, not just staying in
front of the group behind you.
Frost Policy
Frost on the golf course is a very sensitive situation that the golf course superintendent
handles with the utmost of concern. Walking on any part of the golf course while frost is
present will kill the plant. Please refrain from walking or driving your golf car near any
area that may have frost. After a frost delay is lifted, tee times will still go in the order as they were reserved. WWGC has the discretion to use a shotgun start instead of tee times after a delay.
Inclement Weather
