Course Layout

Hole1
Par 4

Blue 425 Yards 3 Handicap
White 410 Yards 3 Handicap
Gold 388 Yards 3 Handicap
Red 352 Yards 3 Handicap

The first hole at West Winds is one of two tough par 4’s to start your round. Tee shots down the center or right side of the fairway give golfers the best angle to a downhill green protected by water on the left, and a large sand trap to the front left of the pin.

Hole 2
Par4

Blue 451 Yards 1 Handicap
White 421 Yards 1 Handicap
Gold 391 Yards 1 Handicap
Red 345 Yards 1 Handicap

#1 Handicap. This severe dog- right, 451-yard par 4, challenges golfers immediately off the tee-box. Weary tee-shots left of center set up for long approach shots to a green that slopes off in all directions. In addition, a left-side bunker and large oak tree to the right have been added to make this a well-guarded green.

Hole 3

Par 3

Blue 156 Yards 15 Handicap
White 143 Yards 15 Handicap
Gold 126 Yards 15 Handicap
Red 103 Yards 15 Handicap

Wind and yardage play a major factor on this mid-length par 3. You may have to go up half a club to reach the green on a gusty day.

Hole 4
Par 5

Blue 478 Yards 7 Handicap
White 456 Yards 7 Handicap
Gold 421 Yards 7 Handicap
Red 384 Yards 9 Handicap

The first par 5 on the course offers a classic risk/reward layout. Long drives make it possible to reach this uphill green in two. However, wayward tee-shots to the right can easily drift out of bounds. Once out of danger, you will have ample space to place approach shots on this oversized green.

Hole 5
Par 3

Blue 173 Yards 17 Handicap
White 146 Yards 17 Handicap
Gold 102 Yards 17 Handicap
Red 97 Yards 17 Handicap

Take enough club, make sure of yardage, and aim for the left side of the green.

Hole 6
Par 5

Blue 482 Yards 13 Handicap
White 463 Yards 13 Handicap
Gold 417 Yards 13 Handicap
Red 395 Yards 11 handicap

A rolling fairway and sloped landing area make this par 5 a unique challenge on the front.

Tee shots should be aimed well left of center to avoid feeding into a gully on the right side of the fairway. You will need to add one club on your approach to the green if you find yourself on either the sever upslope or downslope just inside the 150 yard marker. In addition, the green is significantly deeper than it appears, guarded with two bunkers left and right makes this par 5 a tough one.

Hole 7
Par 3

Blue 196 Yards 9 Handicap
White 185 Yards 9 Handicap
Gold 174 Yards 9 Handicap
Red 156 Yards 13 Handicap

Number 7 is the longest of the par 3’s at West Winds. From the back tees it plays 235 yards to a small green guarded by two front bunkers.

Hole 8
Par 4

Blue 398 Yards 5 Handicap
White 375 Yards 5 Handicap
Gold 367 Yards 5 Handicap
Red 305 Yards 7 Handicap

With a giant oak tree and pond protecting the fairway, the 8th hole offers golfers a chance to get somewhat creative off the tee-box. A tee shot hit slightly left of the oak sets up a good angled second shot to a fairly large green, but going over the tree or pond offer a fairly short approach shot. The choice is yours, but be weary of the water hazard back and to the right of the green.

Hole 9
Par 4

Blue 373 Yards 11 Handicap
White 350 Yards 11 Handicap
Gold 340 Yards 11 Handicap
Red 323 Yards 5 Handicap

From tee to front side of the green, you are fighting an uphill battle. With a slight dogleg to the left and trees lining the right side of the fairway, this hole requires a good tee shot.

Second shots will also have to be precise when trying to land on this small green that slopes left to right and front to back.

Hole 10
Par 4

Blue 428 Yards 2 Handicap
White 400 Yards 2 Handicap
Gold 389 Yards 2 Handicap
Red 359 Yards 2 Handicap

One of the most challenging par 4’s on the golf course. You must hit two good shots to have a chance at par. Off the tee box, this 90 degree dog-leg right forces golfers to place their tee shots down the middle. Anything left makes for an extremely long second shot, while tee-shots to the right leave golfers virtually no angle to the green. Pine trees to the left of the green, and a large bunker short and right add to the difficulty of this hole.

Hole 11
Par 4

Blue 376 Yards 10 Handicap
White 355 Yards 10 Handicap
Gold 325 Yards 10 Handicap
Red 240 Yards 10 Handicap

A solid drive anywhere on the fairway sets you up for a good approach to a sloping green. Although looks are deceiving, the right side of the fairway offers slightly more room off a tee shot. Just be cautious not to go too far right, and risk rolling down a steep hill to 17’s fairway.

Hole 12
Par 3

Blue 153 Yards 18 Handicap
White 138 Yards 18 Handicap
Gold 130 Yards 18 Handicap
Red 104 Yards 18 Handicap

A short, uphill par 3 nestled in between two front-side bunkers. Take a half-club more on this hole to avoid the two sand traps. Once on this green, balls will funnel from back to front.

Hole 13
Par 5

Blue 525 Yards 4 Handicap
White 499 Yards 4 Handicap
Gold 494 Yards 4 Handicap
Red 480 Yards 4 Handicap

This double dog-leg demands three excellent shots for any chance at par, especially since everything slopes right to left on this hole. Hit your tee shot down the right side of the fairway. Your second shot needs to be both accurate and long enough to land just inside the 150 yard marker. Favor the right side in order to keep your ball on the fairway. Finally, add one club to your approach shot to ensure you clear the significant uphill that leads to the green.

Hole 14
par 4

Blue 410 Yards 6 Handicap
White 392 Yards 6 Handicap
Gold 382 Yards 6 Handicap
Red 367 Yards 6 Handicap

Hit your drive down the right side of the fairway to have a second shot into the green. Club selection can be tricky on this hole.

Hole 15
Par 3

Blue 124 Yads 16 Handicap
White 124 Yards 16 Handicap
Gold 116 Yards 16 Handicap
Red 105 Yards 16 Handicap

The shortest hole on the golf course, but it plays a bit longer due to its uphill position from the tee-box. A short iron should give you a chance for birdie.

Hole 16
Par 5

Blue 530 yards 8 Handicap
White 530 Yards 8 Handicap
Gold 518 Yards 8 Handicap
Red 445 Yards 8 Handicap

This 530-yard par 5 is a continuing dog-leg to the right, with out-of-bounds extending along the left side of the fairway. Tee shot should be aimed at the fairway bunker and hit no further than 230 yards with roll. Play second shots short and down the right of the fairway. After two initial blind shots, golfers will get their first glimpse of the green along with a front right bunker protecting the front right portion. Place approach shots below the hole if possible; otherwise, you will face a very fast downhill putt.

Hole 17
Par 4

Blue 345 Yards 12 Handicap
White 320 Yards 12 Handicap
Gold 300 Yards 12 Handicap
Red 280 Yards 12 Handicap

Most shots hit to the right side will gently roll down the hill and into the fairway setting up for an uphill second shot to a fairly flat and large green. Check your yardage to just inside the 150-yard mark and try to land the ball in that area. Add a half a club to reach the uphill green.

Hole 18
Par 5

Blue 502 Yards 14 Handicap
White 493 Yards 14 Handicap
Gold 446 Yards 14 Handicap
Red 381 Yards 14 Handicap

A solid finishing hole. This 502-yard, uphill par 5 will challenge golfers with out of bounds running along both sides of the fairway. The 18thstarts with a difficult tee shot through a shoot of trees that sets up for a blind second shot lay-up. The hole proceeds to dog-leg sharply at the 150-yard marker, so it is crucial to place second shots toward the right side of the fairway to have a short iron into the green. On your approach shot, aim for the middle of the green regardless of the pin location
